Note: The American Academy of Sleep Medicine (2016) made similar sleep time duration recommendations, which were endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics (2016): 12-16 hours for infants, 11-14 hours for toddlers, 10-13 hours for preschoolers, 9-12 hours for 6-12 year olds, and 8-10 hours for 13-18 year olds. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine (2015) recommended adults sleep 7 or more hours per night on a regular basis.

Screen Time
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) suggests that all screens be turned off 30 minutes before bedtime and that TVs, computers and other screens not be allowed in children’s bedrooms.
